This privacy policy describes how the Riders Shipping application (“the App”, operated at integration.tryriders.com) processes personal data on behalf of merchants who install the App on their Shopify stores.

Who we are

The App connects Shopify merchants in Kuwait to the Riders last-mile delivery platform. Merchants remain the data controller for their customers’ data; we process data as a service provider to fulfill delivery integration.

Data we process

When a merchant uses the App, we may process the following personal data from Shopify orders and checkout:

• Customer name (shipping / billing recipient)
• Phone number (Kuwait delivery contact)
• Shipping and billing addresses
• Order identifiers, notes, and payment status (for sync eligibility)
• Kuwait address details collected at checkout (governorate, area, block, street, house)
• Civil ID (PACI) numbers entered optionally at checkout for address lookup — used only to resolve a delivery address and not stored as a standalone customer profile

We process only the minimum data required to sync orders to Riders and display sync status to the merchant.

How we use data

• Create and update delivery orders on the Riders platform
• Create Shopify fulfillments and tracking information
• Resolve Kuwait delivery addresses (including geo lookup)
• Display order sync status in the merchant admin
• Respond to GDPR webhooks (data export, redaction, shop deletion)

Third-party sharing

Order and delivery data is transmitted to Riders (order-riders.trywebsight.com / vendor APIs) solely to fulfill last-mile delivery requested by the merchant. We do not sell customer data.

Retention

Order data is retained while the App is installed and as needed for active delivery operations. When a merchant uninstalls the App, shop data is soft-deleted; GDPR customers/redact and shop/redact webhooks trigger removal or anonymization of stored order payloads. Data request exports are written for merchant compliance and should be provided to the merchant upon request.

Security

• Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Access tokens and API keys are stored encrypted and redacted in application logs
• Staff access to production systems is limited; access to personal data is logged
• Test and production environments are separated

Merchant responsibilities

Merchants must ensure their storefront privacy notices cover checkout address collection and delivery partner processing. Delivery fees charged by Riders are billed through the Riders platform, separate from this free Shopify app.
